Cyberbullying Project group15 Final Draft
What parts of your video are you most satisfied with and proud of?
-I was most satisfied with the entire project. But to be more specific i guess it would have to be the interview with Mr. Vela and everything within those scenes. Whenever Mr. Vela said an important fact we overlayed a video that depicted the situation or fact. Everyone commented on the end where we had Michael, our friend, to walk down the hall and had Jacob narrated on how what a person should do if they ever get cyberbullied. That scene was open to interpretation and i was glad of what people thought the message that scene was trying to portray.
What comments from others were helpful to you in creating your final draft?
-A good amount of people said there wasn't much to change in our video, but just some minor things like maybe add titles within the hallway scene. Another was to maybe lengthen the title of Mr. Vela and the title that said "Cyberbullying".
What changes did you actually make on your final video?
-We added titles in our hallway scene so it wouldn't seem to "drag" on and to let the words that Jacob say become more bold so to speak.
What changes would you make if you had another day or two?
-If we were given another day or two to make changes I really wouldn't know what else to change. We may add some more information to get the point across but not so we elongate and become redundant with our information but just to emphasize it. Maybe add another authority's opinion or a student's viewpoint on cyberbullying.
If you had the chance to do the project all over again, what would you do differently?
-Given the chance to do the whole project all over again I would change the opening scene and the way the interview was introduced. In the opening scene I would make a large collage of phones ringing and people texting on them. Before the the interview scene, we could have one of us speak a little bit more on cyberbullying and then Mr. Vela giving his opinion on the subject. Within the Mr. Vela's interview, a scene would cut to someone cyberbullying another and then cut to a guy/girl on the far right 1/3 of the screen looking at her computer then zooms on her cheek only to find a tear running down. It would truly give this dramatic feeling and the results of how heinous cyberbullying can be.
What realizations, discoveries, and understandings did you reach about creating videos?
-I've come to the realization that what you portray in a video is an art. To one person, an interview can just be an opinion and affect them just the slightest. To another, it can be this devastating viewpoint and can cause them reflect upon themselves or the world and think maybe "What can I do?" "What is being done about this?" etc. In this cyberbullying project, people saw the hallway scene and gave their interpretations of it. That's what I hope to do in some of my scenes in the next project, even if it's a small hint of an interpretation.
What other thoughts do you have about your own project?
-I feel that we did a good job. Although there were minor things I was pretty satisfied with the outcome of this project.
